We found that there are many approaches and protocols with similiar dietary constructs as the GAPS diet protocol. We have found that the GAPS community is supportive, insightful and open. However there are other communities made up of active, thriving, performance oriented people who have chosen to eat according to low-carb, high-fat diets by choice- for improved health, longevity, and athletic performance. The former provided us the incentives and courage to embark on the GAPS diet; the latter have proven to be a tremendous source of inspriation, information, and motivation as we endeavor through the requisite lifestyle changes (and challenges).
